Welcome to Berlin in November 2011! 26. Symposium of Vascular Medicine, 10.-12.11.2011
Dear Ladies and Gentlemen,
the 25. Symposium of Vascular Medicine in November was conducted with great success. We could once again welcome more than 500 guests to Berlin, from Germany and elsewhere.
The 25. Anniversary saw the end of an era. Prof. Wolfgang Hepp passed on the torch to PD Dr. med. Ralph I. Rückert and Dr. med. Peter Klein-Weigel.
An advisory board, consisting of renowned physicians, will assist the Scientific Directors. We shall pursue our tradition of open and interdisciplinary exchange. To underline these aspirations we have decided to change the title of the congress to "Symposium of Vascular Medicine Berlin - GMS". In addition we shall change the duration and form of the symposium and will adapt the time requirements accordingly.
The workshops take place on the 10.11.2011 from morning to afternoon.
The industrial exhibition is to be set up on the morning of the 10.11.2011.
The scientific program and the industrial exhibition begin on the 10.11.2011 at 4.00 p.m. and run until 2.00 p.m. on the 12.11.2011.
After the opening event on the 10.11., there will be an evening ‘Get Together’ event within the area of the industrial exhibition.

• DRG-News
• Wound Management
• Ultrasound refresher course
• Suture course and interventional basic course
• Virtual training course: Aorta
• Angiologic Workshop
• Special Care Day including an interventional section
The main themes of the symposium are:
• News from the field of vascular surgery
• Early diagnosis and prevention of vascular disease
• Aortic aneurysms - future management
• Therapy of asymptomatic carotid stenosis
• Forum for junior physicians of vascular medicine
• Endovenous therapy
• Quality Assurance and patient safety in vascular medicine. • A Travel Scholarship by the Ernst-Jeger-Gesellschaft Berlin e.V. to the amount of € 5000.00. Prize money - awarded by the Ernst-Jeger-Gesellschaft Berlin e.V. - each to the amount of €500.00 for the best lectures in the fields of arterial and venous medicine and also in the Angiologic Forum.
